Did you know that today is the internet's birthday? Can you imagine how the world would be without it? Along with the washing machine, the internet is one of the biggest innovations in the last 100 or so years.

General Antonio Luna - Hero, Pharmacist. He wrote a piece titled Impressions which dealt with Spanish customs and idiosyncrasies under the pen-name "Taga-ilog". He fought duels with Spanish writers who wrote insultingly of Filipinos. He was rumored to be a ladies’ man. In Europe, Luna and Jose Rizal once quarreled over their interest in the same girl, a French mestiza. Got f'd over by know-nothing coward Aguinaldo.

Amanda Beard - Olympic swimmer/ FHM centerfold
1998 – Hurricane Mitch, the second deadliest Atlantic hurricane in history, makes landfall in Honduras.
1998 – Gothenburg nightclub fire in Sweden (ala Ozone disco) claims 63 lives and injures 200.
2005 - Delhi bombings kill more than 60.
